He adapts his formal, usually abstract repertoire to different needs of the representation, whether in relation to a subject (martyrs, christs, a bell), or to the natural landscape. He follows balanced rhythms of volumes, simple in general, and then adds oversized elements – carved ornaments, metal applications etc., which take over the figurative or symbolic charge. Sometimes, in these oversized elements he integrates texts or abstract allusions to writing, especially to oriental characters. Most of his works are in wood, sometimes in a dialogue with metal, but he also resorts to traditional materials (stone). His experience in Apostu’s workshop determined his preference for ample, monumental volumes, but his narrative pulse makes him use a series of accessories that overbid the shape.
